One current area of focus is exploring the establishment of New Zealand’s first integrated second-life battery refurbishment and recycling capability, particularly for electric bus and EV batteries.
This initiative emerged directly from consulting engagements involving fleet operators, municipal infrastructure, and industrial energy systems, where large-format batteries were approaching end-of-vehicle life despite retaining significant usable capacity.
